Seven victims of fraudulent tickets for the Indonesia vs Philippines Football match reported the case to the Surakarta Police. Accompanied by attorneys Muhammad Afif Fauzi and Lilik Setiawan, the victims took legal action after feeling aggrieved by the alleged perpetrator, Respati Bayu Adhi (31), who until now has not shown any good faith in resolving the problem.
The losses due to this alleged fraud are estimated to reach hundreds of millions of rupiah. The perpetrator, who is known as an important figure in the national football world, offered tickets for the Indonesia vs Philippines match on December 9, 2024. Initially, the transaction went smoothly when selling tickets for the Indonesia vs Laos match. However, problems began to arise when tickets for the Indonesia vs Philippines match were not given to the buyers.
One of the victims, MI, revealed that he bought 188 tickets and had sent some money to Bayu. However, when the match day arrived, the promised tickets were not received. MI even gathered prospective spectators at the shelter, but Bayu could not be contacted until the match was over.
"Initially, I believed in Bayu because of his position in the national football world. However, after this happened, we felt aggrieved and decided to take this case to court,” said MI, Tuesday (24/12).
In line with MI, other victims such as OK, SE, CS, and RAP also experienced similar losses. They regretted Bayu’s actions, whose whereabouts are still unknown.
The victim’s attorney, Muhammad Afif Fauzi, explained that the total losses suffered by the victims were very significant.
“Up until now, seven people have reported to us. The total losses are estimated to reach hundreds of millions of rupiah,” said Afif.
Afif and Lilik Setiawan ensured that they would accompany the victims through the legal process until completion. They hope that the Surakarta Police will immediately summon and ask for information from the alleged perpetrators to resolve this case.
