The Central Java-DI Yogyakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Bea Cukai (DJBC) has blocked the export of PT. Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk. (SRIL) or Sritex. This step was taken following the bankruptcy decision issued by the Semarang District Court.
In accordance with the applicable mechanism, Bea Cukai will revoke all fiscal facilities for companies that are declared bankrupt, including Sritex, which has been bankrupt since last year.
Head of the Compliance Guidance and Public Relations Section of the Central Java-DI Yogyakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Bea Cukai, R. Megah Andiarto, revealed that after the bankruptcy decision, Sritex had attempted to export goods through Tanjung Emas Port. However, Bea Cukai officers had thwarted the attempt.
"We did confirm with Tanjung Emas that there was one container that was going to leave, but it had been canceled and withdrawn by the company. So the goods did not make it out," Megah explained when met on Tuesday (4/2/2025).
Megah said that the goods for export were sent from Surakarta City to Semarang City. However, due to the bankruptcy case that ensnared the textile industry giant, the export shipment attempt was canceled.
The Central Java-DI Yogyakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Bea Cukai has carried out a number of mitigations related to the bankruptcy of Sritex and its three subsidiaries.
Together with the Curator Team, Megah said that her party had sealed four factories that were declared bankrupt in 2024. Bea Cukai officers were also on standby at each hangar in the four factory locations.
"For exports and imports, everything goes through the system and has been blocked. So it can't be done. Both import and export documents can't be done anymore. [For example] it can't be thrown to another subsidiary, because there must be a record of where the raw materials came in," explained Megah.
Allegations of Illegal Activities Allegations of illegal export activities carried out by Sritex company management were first raised by the Curator Team in the bankruptcy case.
Since being declared bankrupt, the debtor has continued to carry out its business activities, thus violating Article 24 paragraph (1) of the Bankruptcy and Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) Law. The Curator Team also found attempts to send illegal exports at night.
In contrast to the statement of the Central Java-DI Yogyakarta Regional Office of DJBC, the Curator Team found more than one truck carrying export cargo, complete with customs seals. Previously, Sritex President Director Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto did not deny the export shipment attempts.
"Once again, we are carrying out the government's mandate to be able to operate normally," he said when met by reporters on Tuesday (21/1/2025). Iwan said that the company's export efforts were an effort to be able to provide salaries for all Sritex employees.
"We hold that we hold the government's mandate that our operations must be normal. Must run normally. So, whatever the effort, we will continue to try," he said.
